What is the Digital Skills Accelerator Programme
COVID-19 has had, and continues to have, a severe impact on the Irish economy. Already we are seeing significant long term social and economic challenges for families, communities and local economies. Over 20,000 people in the Munster region whose livelihoods are being affected, as a result of this pandemic, can take advantage of upskilling opportunities to new career paths – without affecting their PUP or Social Payments.
Over the next 8 months ICBE Business Excellence Skillnet will provide individuals, who have recently become unemployed (from Hospitality, Retail or Aviation) due to the pandemic, with an opportunity to realise a new career in Multinational Customer Experience, ICT, Continuous Improvement or Project Management positions.
Having engaged with a number of multinational organisations in the region, we have identified placement opportunities and through virtual training courses we can help you realise new opportunities and prospects. These virtual courses have been structured in such a way to help develop participants with minimal IT skills, to a new level of knowledge and career advancement – previously unexplored.
ABOUT SKILLS CONNECT
Skills Connect, an initiative from Skillnet Ireland, is designed in partnership with enterprise to enhance cross-sector employability and support people who have lost their jobs. These bespoke upskilling and training solutions, designed by enterprise, are aimed at supporting re-entry into the workforce. Skills Connect offers free online training programmes and enterprise-led virtual job placements to jobseekers looking for new jobs and careers. This valuable initiative offers individuals the opportunity to develop new skills or reskill, build confidence and access practical on-the-job training.
We are a knowledge-sharing network of cross-sectoral businesses committed to helping each other. Our Board of Directors are drawn from our member companies. At ICBE our goal is to assist our member companies to be the most competitive in their field.
We organise best practice visits to exemplary sites so that members can learn from each other. We work with our members in steering groups to organise events and design bespoke training to meet current and future needs of business. We run these activities at the most suitable location for our members.
Our “Call for Support” process is where we confidentially facilitate members to get solutions to resolve challenges using the entire network as a resource.
